A protected space for 2SLGBTQIA+ identified folks to come together and sew in community. Bring your quilting project and hang out with fellow 2SLGBTQIA quilters and sew enthusiasts!
Session will be hosted by Micaela (@2llamasyoga) - former quilt guild president, avid quilter, budding knitter, stumbling garment construction sewer with a passion for RuPaul's Drag Race. Micaela enjoys puzzles, audiobooks and hanging out with her wife and two very spoiled Cocker Spaniels.
This is a great way to meet other quilters and crafters, and to inspire and be inspired!
There is no agenda for this session... it's just about meeting up and working on our projects together.
Some things to note:
The classroom is available to you from 1 to 4 pm
This is a social sewing group, and there is no instruction. You must have experience using a sewing machine if you are using the classroom machines. You will also need to purchase a bobbin for the classroom machine ($2).
While we have a fridge, it's small, so if you bring your lunch, an insulated lunch tote is best. There are also lots of great places to eat on Monkland!
Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the studio on wintery or wet days. Please bring indoor shoes or slippers to wear.
Please bring your own cup. We ask that only sealed, spill-proof drinkware be used in the classroom to avoid any mishaps with liquids and fabrics. That would be sad for everyone.
We can't wait to see what you're working on!
